So i'm currently planning my travels to japan. I found out that SAS has tickets which will get me there and back for like 8000 SEK. Which i really really like. It is well within my expectations of what one of those trips might cost. I have also made plans for going to Osaka with the friend that i'm meeting up with in Tokyo. We looked at some ryokan hotels and looked at some of the prices. We will be going there by bus so it will take some time. BUT! i will be able to see a lot of japan this way(and its really cheap). Hopefully it will make a short stop somewhere. So i can sneak out and maybe snap off a few more of photos. I've also started to look up prices for traincards etc so i can travel around Tokyo with ease. Not that it's going to be an ease with all the kanji writings. But i will be able to move a bit more freely. I still have a lot more japanese to study before i am fluent in that language.

My number one "fear" when going to japan is pickpockets. Since i will be bringing my camera which is the Nikon D80. Needless to say it costs a lot of money and i'd hate to loose it!. I don't think it will be any problem though. I havn't had any problems with those kind of things before. I also don't thing i'm really within their target group. Hopefully they will target stressed out people and people with kids running around. Basically people who has so much on their mind that they can't be bothered to think about something else.

Still it's the question of how long i'm going to be there. Two or three weeks is the deal. One week i and i won't be able to see anything of the place. So that's not really an option. With the amount of things that i want to see and do two weeks will be a little tight, but doable!. Also i kinda mindfucked myself with the trip. I had my mind set on february as the start date of the journey. But in fact it was not until march. Which makes it a whole lot better actually. Since i will have more money to do stuff with!. Silly me, but good! ^_^

This also gives me more time to get my japanese up to speed.
I feel that japanese times, dates and days crave my attention. Also counting things. So damn troublesome, but so damn important!!!!

I've been using my Nikon D80 a lot more. The pictures folder at home is a wh00ping 4GB already. Ok, mainly because most of the pictures are in .nef format. Which is Nikons raw format. It really takes up space. Specially since i have to convert the images to .tga or .tif to be able to work with them in photoshop. If not photoshop just tells me "FU i'm not working for u". Which is quite annoying.

So far so good though. The camera is working really well and i've been able to capture a few great shots. Right now i'm kinda longing for spring and summer to arrive. So i can get some more daylight time. Right now the prime time is basically the same time as my work hours. Which kinda sux. I also need to figure out more ways to use my camera. Tips&trix to get better photos. I'm really enjoying photography thus far.

I will also be trying to get some more material up on my 3D blog. I really have to get cracking again. Not that i'm not cracking away at 3D. I just need to do more of my own stuff. That's all. Right now i'm taking a whack at some Warhammer fantasy models. Which i predict is going to turn out ok in the end. I'll be posting the final models and textures in my 3D blog. Which you can find over here. Now i'm going to go home. Make some food and practise a bit more on my japanese. There really is to much to do. And i only have so much time. dag nabbit!!!

Item aquired: SNK Arcade Classics vol.1

I just had to buy this one. I mean if you have any sort of passion for retro gaming this is a must have. It's quite the impressive list of games. Although the ones i've most is Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown. The first one more crazier then the last. I mean how many current games or movies for that matter. Has a villain that has this kind of opening line: I have awoken from a 100 years of sleep. To kick some ass. Not many but Samurai Shodown has it. Besides from being a really nice 2D beat em up. It also has that humoristic touch. Every character in the game has these really cheesy one liners which they alternate between each time you face them. The 2D gameplay is really nice and fast paced. Sometimes a bit to fast for me. I'm still just a newbi when is comes to arcade games. I know that people that have played games lite GGX etc have more experience with completing complicated moves on the D-pad etc. But this game has a really brutal learning curve. It basically starts on really hard and gets harder. I don't remember swearing this much in a long time and i've still not beat the game.

One of the Arcade classics that i have finished is Metal Slug. Man oh man what a game. Intense action all the time and really nice action and enviroments. Although it tends to freeze up a bit frome time to time on the PSP. It is more then enjoyable. If you haven't played this game then i suggest you go do that. One way or the other. Even if you don't like the genre this game really has some stunning graphics. Well worth punting your way through.

I'm going to publish some more photos in just a while. I've been busy doing other things and have not come around to processing them just yet. I think i have some really nice ones. But we shall see about that. I find that it's sometimes really hard to see if a picture is good. Just using the camera display. It can look really sharp. But when you process it into photoshop or a picture preview program then it looks really blurry. More then often i think it's because of me though. Failing on the focus. Man i wanna learn more about how to get more quality from my photos. But i'm getting there. Everything seems to go a bit in slow motion right now in comparison to work. Although i guess that that's where it counts. Well i'm off to make some breakfast. Or something. Maybe some kind off coffee.

Blogg redesigned. Really liking these new colors. Going to do a retake on the left hand side graphics. Some bulges and such that i'm not all that happy with. Pretty good month so far. although i've spent a bit too much money. I need to buff up if i am to make my journey to japan. Which i'm longing for ever so much. I can almost taste it now. mmmmm...japan...*drool*.

Work has begun as usual and a lot of things are slowly falling back into place. The grudges the annoyances and some additional stuff aswell. However i am by the firm oppinion that no matter how hard you try to do stuff people will always complain. If not about the thing you just did then over the thing you are about to do or did before that. Constantly having to defend yourself is not part of a workplace where i want to work. My motto though for 2009 is to do everything better and more precise and with fever errors then 2008. Also to take a bigger interest in my own participation and development. Enough with the ranting!

Some of you know this. Or you read my previous post. I bought a Nikon D80 Camera. Well now there has been some picturetaking. So here i will be posting some of the pictures taken with the Nikon D80. Hope you find then enjoyable. A small notice though. These pictures were saved in a lossy format(JPEG) on the camera. I have some additional ones but they are in NEF format. So i have to convert them somehow in order for them to work in Photoshop. Well here goes!

So this X-mas has been a real blast. In addition to having a great time with my parents and beeing able to spend some time with my sister. I've also bought a Nikon D80. Finally i will be able to take some proper photos. I've soooo longed for that. Gathering my own Texture references, taking pictures on vacations, events, trips etc. Now finally i will be able to do all that and then some.

For new years eve i'm going to a houseparty in Stockholm. It's bound to be utterly sweet and i'm so hoping for a fun filled eavning(i will NOT be bringing the Nikon D80). Lots of people and a small apartement. What could ever go wrong?
Clothing, clothing could go wrong. But not with underwear with comics on them, No sir!. Although i don't know if i'm going to go with the baggy more relaxed style or if i'm going to go with the more proper/uptight profiling. gaah...so much to choose from.

So here i am. I just finished a one hour badminton session with my dad. Really good workout. My buttocks are tense like nothing on this earth. Maybe i should join a club or something in back in Falun. Would be nice to have something constant.

I've also stardet to look into special F/X for games. Primarily with Fume FX. It seems like a really powerful program. but then as to how i transfer it to game FX i don't know just now. All the samples on their website were directed towards creating FX for game intros. Which we all know is pre-rendered and not realtime renders. In addition to looking this up i also took an interesst in brushing up on my maya knowledge. Primarily in the fields of particles and sprites. Since these are the primary ingredients in creating FX for games. However there is still the difference between DX9 and DX10 and how they both treat FX. Different blending etc. Volumetric fog, smoke, fire and water. So this is my holliday fun :)
Actually it is really fun so :)

Hopefully it will get better...but you never know with these things. I don't know, is it murphys law that always assumes that if something can go wrong it most likely will. Feels like so many things got off on the wrong foot this X-mas. I mean i shouldn't complain. There are a lot of things that has gone right. I just need to improve my standing in key areas. I feel that standards are lacking in those specific areas. And to be frank it's kinda bugging me alot. I want mobility and i'm going to make sure i get it during 2009. I hate this. I start thinking about things...i want to do things. I feel like i want to engage myself more in what i'm working with. But there is no point...if there is no positive feedback. If there is no incentive. Then i'll just have to look elsewhere for that. Don't I?

How do i solve this nagging problem. How do i communicate it. How do i enforce it. I think i know what to do. Although i will have to thread lightly. Reherse, build up your confidence, take notes, what do you want to say, where do you want to land. Build a strategy, change over time. Not everything can change at once. But lots can change over time.

So that is what i will do. I have already planted the seed. All i need to do now is to nurture it. Watch it grow and reap the benefits.

So i've been kinda lazy in updating this blog. Soooo...i thought i'd give it a go again. Will try to keep the blogg-posts rolling. So what has happened since last time, face it i'm not gonna fit it all into this post. But i'll try to get the essentials.

A couple of weeks ago i was at a home-party and i met a girl there. Now don't get me wrong, i've met a lot of girls at home-parties. But this feels like it might be a little bit more special then that. So we'll se how that goes. Good i hope =)

I've been working like a madman...i'll tell you that. Besides the usual work there has also been Dreamhack Winter 2008. Which i tell you is no easy thing to prepare for. I've been there 2 times before. One time as a Graphich artist for a Game company and another as a Gamer. Now i was there as a Graphic artist for the school i'm currently employed at. Although it was straining on the body to be there i also had massive amounts of fun. One of the main things i wanted to do there was play Starcraft 2, which i did. Success for me!

The other thing i wanted to do was to see as much of the LAN as possible. Kinda failed at that one. Since after every shift you had to go to the hotel. Which was way down in Jönköping. So i basically had 2 choices. 1 stay and see the LAN, play some more SC2. Or go with the man in the car and get some well earned sleep down at the hotell. Since i had to be at my brightest during my workhours there was little choice. I had to go to the hotell and sleep. not much else to do. So i'd say that was a fail in my book. All i got to see now was all the talented people who came by our exibit to sculpt in Mudbox 2009. Which in itself was kinda kickass actually. So that cancells out the seeing more of the LAN.

Now in late December we had a X-mas table(don't know the english translation for 'Julbord') with the company. We had a merry time and there were presents(wait what?). yes presents.

Although i was not all that suprised(they had actually put up a wishlist earlier that week). But it was really nice and washed over us with a nice sence of accomplishment. I got a som underwear and a pair of Skullcandy Skullcrushers:

I ate so much i was about to get very sick. But a few cups of coffee managed to get my digestion going so by the end of the eavning i was merry as a lamb before sheering. A very nice time was had.

Finally got around to watching 'Way of the Dragon' with Bruce Lee. Man i like those movies. You really don't have to pay attention to any of the story. Basically because these movies are all based on the martial arts. So the actors are somewhat...not actors. Also the insanely good dubbing. Man i never thought i'd like it this much. But the way it has been filmed, with a grainy old camera. The way the colors act. The dubbing. It all comes together so nicely. I really really like it :)

Makes me want to do a 3D animation in that fashion. I just have to make the models, setting, etc...erm....oh well. Some day i will get around to doing it. Some day...

I have realised that i am no longer counting months from the 1st to the 30/31. I am actually counting them from the 25th to the 25th. Not suprisingly though. Since those are the cycles that I/we have come to live by. And everything is centered around those dates aswell. Like bills, parties, vacations so on and so forth. This perticular month has gone off on a bad start in economics but a great start in socials. I just bought a new shirt and a pair of loose fit jeans. Reeeeal comfy. That alltogether was like 1.7k. Jeeeeps! But they look really nice so i don't mind. Bought them from WESC so i'm gonna se if i can get some connections there. Would be nice. I also found out that the shopkeep of the WESC in Falun is a instructor in Breakdance. They are holding a open night this wednesday so i'm thinking of going. Need to was ma clothes first though.
Yesterday there was a big nice fancy party that was really awsome. Lots of industry people that was there. For some reason and i can't tell if it's good or bad but when i'm at such a party i get set into some kind of mingle mode. Which is kinda like i socialize with everyone. So the difference is that if it was a regular night out i would have kept an eye out for special winks from ladies and such. But here i kinda shut of that part of me. I'm assuming it's a reflex of sorts. Good in one way but really bad in another. Aaaaaanyway the party was great. They served drinks before they let us take our places by the dinnertable. Then there was a speech and they showed off some of their old and presend stuff. They also showed a bit of what was on the horizon. Which was really nice.
Fable 2 arrived this friday. Can't wait to play it. But i still havn't played through Mass Effect....argh! to much to do and to little time. Warhammer online is going great though. LvL 25 Magus and Guildlevel 5. Pretty exciting game and really fun pvp when you get a gang who knows what to do in the scenarios. Dead space has also arrived. i'm definately thinking of buying it. Would be nice to get a hold of a demo first though.

Up until now it's only been in dreams and in cartoons(Futurama). But i really really like this idea.

Although a bit cheesy and there are a lot of really really strange conclusions. With a bit more background information. Maybe a small short before you start this interactive movie strip.

In a way it kind of reminds me of old games like Myth and Riven. Where you had prerendered images and you just navigated your way through them. And every now and then you would come across a short video or some small animation. I'm sure that this concept could be expanded upon.

Serial numbers in digital is retarded.

With most games there is a CD-key or a Serial number. This is required to install and play the game. In most cases this is printed on the back of the manual or printed on a small label inside of the CD/DVD case. Usually this text is fully readable. But somehow some retarded person decided to print this with digital letter. Suddenly you have a infinite number of problems. Since digital letters operate according to certain patterns you get letters and numbers which can be identical and in some cases not even visible.

The CD-key or serial number is often several letters and numbers mixed in a specifik way. Just to make sure that your CD-key/serial is unique. This is to make sure that only you have access to this game and all the benefits it gives. Lets give a example with this fake key.

ASTB-LR8S-VKIL-BQSO

For this key to work you would have to type it in in the exact specific order. If you didn't it would not work. Now here comes the problem.

What if every S in that key could be a 5?

What if every 8 in that key could be a B?

What if every I in that key could be a l?

Lets think about that for a minuit. If it was just the S then you would have 27 avalibe combinations. If you then add the rest of the characters to that equasion. You get a number that's a lot bigger. So what do you do when this occurs?

Call technical support, call any number you have that will help you. And hopefully you will be able to play your game after hours in waiting. Compensation? don't count on it.

What could be the possible results of this?

Playing that other game you liked so much and letting this one collect dust on your shelves(or preferably in a remote lockbox)

Turning it back in and buying a new game for your hard earned money.

A small thing can cost a lot of money for many companies. Think about it before you issue that print order. Put in the extra time to make the installation of a game as smooth as possible. No gamer wants to wait that extra second for the install to finish. Imagine how they react if the key isn't working. What would make it even more sour is if you have a Collectors edition(CE) which is worth a lot of money. You don't want to turn it in. Since its a COLLECTORS edition. Which is valuable to most collectors.

In the end this only takes up my time costing me more then just the initial price. I'm now actually paying them money based on my spare time. I'm troubleshooting issues that i shouldn't be troubleshooting. Realize there is a problem. Deal with it(in this case send out a new serial number). Issue a statement(for everyone to se) and in the end make your gamer happy. Give them those extra days before having to renew their subscription. Since you wan't them there for a long long time. So your company can earn lots and lots of money.

WAR updates

Some new sceens. The one with the 'Cold one' is a friend of mine from Stockholm. Finally with us both having mounts we will be able to start some serious questing. Looking forward to some casual fun filled days. Hopefully joining a guild sometime soon. I'm pretty curious on just what the rewards are for a guild with a good reputation. This reward system has many layers. I'm not eaven sure that i know what they all are.

The second screen is with a newly formed char. Whose main purpouse is to support my main char Edwollill with ingredients for the Apothecary skill. I'm also supplying Sorenah with some goodies for Talisman making.

Njoy the screens.(P.S i'm kinda envious of the Dark Elves mount....sooo sweeet.)

Besides beeing totally awsome with their flying discs they are also able to summon a range of deamons to aid their cause. Although not always that powerful they can be of useful strategic value when fighting in a pvp-scenario. Besides that they are awfully good at dealing out pain and is a powerful backup force on the battlefield. Although you should exorcise extreme caution when aproaching the more brute classes. Be sure to have a healer around at all times and if you can have a friend there who can further slow the brute while you all pound away at him. And put your minions to work. Put up obstacles by summoning possesd minions with the ability to halt and or hinder your opponent. But play it right and you will be death on the battlefield.
Support from behind your lines, stay out of harms way, make use of your chaos tentacles to bind incoming brutes. At any time make sure you don't get cought up in the fight since you are basically the weakest one out there. And you are supposed to be a support unit. Although you should stay as support. Your binding abilities(chaos tentacles, warp fire) can be effectively used to slow opponents down. This will be really good for scenarios like Stonetroll crossing and the CTF scenarios. Where you need to either halt the other team down or slow down the flag/artifact carrier. If you do decide to interviene with the flag carrier remember to do quick hit and run incursions and don't try to take him down 1on1. Since most units in my experience will easily take down a Magus in a 1on1 scenario. Your objective here is basically to stall and wait for backup. If you get overwhelmed make sure to use your tentacles and bind them all before you go down.

Another thing that is really awsome and i curse myself for not taking screens earlier. Is that when you rise in levels your disc changes it's look. At first it seems pretty dull and boring but then all of the sudden you get the spikes and wow. Huge difference. Now my magus is at lvl 21 and this is how she looks at the moment.

A week with WAR

So i've pretty much been working as much as possible. And when i'm not working i try to take care of myself. Like running, gaming, resting. But i've been having an increasingly hard time with this during the last two months. The reason for it is that besides working i'm also studying pedagogy and japanese on the side. Something that is really tearing my sparetime&restingtime apart. I mean sure it's fun but it's also so demanding.

If that wasn't enough i'm also trying to put together a sidescrolling game of sorts. Which is also ramping up in the nessessary graphical content needed. So it's slowly moving away from beeing fun to beeing more of a burden. Really, i don't understand why people have to get carried away so quickly. Just chill down. it's a hobby project. One small baby step at a time. Don't forget that it's supposed to be fun.

Started on a new minichallange on gameartisans.org. Gonna finish it next week. It's bound to be a lot of fun.

For this last week there has been a number of bar occations. All of which has gone really well until the finishing moments. Kind of a "thank you for the dance but we have to get home" or "i will call you" etc etc etc. Guess that is how it goes though. No time to worry about such things. So i bought Team fortress 2 the other day and i've been playing it like a madman. I also added a tag on the right side here which directs you to a page which keeps track of all of my stats. This game might be the best one for a long long time. I especially like the graphical nature of the game. Cartoony, raw, gory and beutiful animations. If you have not played it already i encourage you to do so. It's a bunch a fun i tell ya.

And in other news. I've been looking at sites like kontraband, break, youtube, video.google etc. For quite some time now. And i've realized that those are just major time wasters. Which kinda made me angry @myself for getting fooled into them that easily. So i've been replacing these sites with CGtalk, AREA, CGsociety, Polycount etc etc. Sites which has actual relevance to what i am doing. Which is kinda good. So instead of wasting my time i am actually reading about stuff i will have use for later on down the road. Don't get me wrong though. I do occationally watch break, kontraband, video.google etc. But not as much as i used to. For which i am really glad.

Ställen du bott på?
Bodde först o främst på söder i Stockholm. Tills min farfar o farmor sålde huset och vi flyttade ut till Upplands Väsby. Jag var typ 2 år då av vad jag fått berättat. Vi flyttade in i ett kollektivhus på Paradis Vägen 2 där jag spenderat oh so many good times. Flyttade till Skarpnäck efter det och bodde i mattias brors lägenhet. Bodde väl där...ett tag. sen så flyttade jag till Falun där jag först bodde med en annan random kille i en 3a i nedre Norslund. Som jag sen övergav för att flytta in med 1337 programmer Pontus på Slagggatan. Vilket är typ mitt inne i stan. Ett tag efter att jag slutat plugga i Falun och fått jobb på Simbin så flyttade jag först ned till Vara och sen vidare till Göteborg. Det skedde ganska snabbt. Sen var jag där ett tag och jobbade samt chillade. Sen så fick jag en position som artist/teacher på skolan där jag pluggat. Så jag tog den och flyttade tillbaka till Falun där jag nu bor.

Säga upp mig, jobba på min portfolio. Sen söka till något av de större spelföretagen i Sverige eller utomlands för att sedan leva ut mina dagar görandes något som jag älskar. Men så lär det juh bli ett antal resor under dem åren också :)

Sooo i've started to run again. Aswell as doing situps, pushups etc. Working out pretty good. i've also started to eat more healthy, i think. Feels like so at least. Can't say really if i'm down, unhappy or irritated. I just feel like i want to do something about my situation here and i'm not doing it. Well it won't go on that way for long, knowing me that is. I will find a way to grab a hold of the situation and turn it around.

There are some things that i find really troublesome though. I'm making suggestions as to things that would increase our in house knowledge. But the "captain" of this ship is really being ignorant to it. Or maybe i just need to push harder. Make him say no or yes. Really Really push the envelope. Maybe that's the way it goes. The one that screams the most gets the most. Very stupid way imho but if that's the way it works then lets get with the program on this one. Maybe call it a test of "theory in reality". Bottom line is that i hate doing more work then what i'm getting credits for. That would also fall under the category personal value. The amount of time laid down and the quality of the work that i'm performing. Should equal the amount of credits i get back. Simple as that. now I am not going to get melodramatic on you. Say things like "i'm gonna go someplace they appriciate my work" or "where i might find better return for my efforts". No...oh wait...i just did. But i didn't mean it like that. I just mean that in the long run people tend to stay where they like it the best. And lets face it, just having persons around you that like you doesn't cut it. Not by a longshot. You have to be able to accomplish the other goals you have in life. Traveling to other countries, going to concerts, experience a art masterclass and so much more. Having the opportunity to do other things besides working. This in return will grant the "captain" much more then just quality in return. Happy workplace, relaxed colleagues, respect etc.

I hate to think that what the "captain" is doing is for his own personal wealth and satisfaction. I mean i think some part of it is. But i sincerely hope it's not. I'd be much more glad to be part of a bigger production if that is the case. Which is more performance oriented. You do well you get credit for it. gaaah! i'm getting irritated just writing this. Gonna stop for now and head on home for a run. Have a better one peeps.

Sooo i spent a little over my budget i think. I went down to the local gamestore and came home with Bioshock - Collectors edition(CE) for the PC and killzone - liberation for the psp. So what i'm going to do is post some pictures of the content of the CE box. I truly recommend buying this game. From my own and others the credits of this game has always been positive.

As of lately i've been browsing through as many episodes i could find from the series 'Code Monkeys'. This show is airing on G4 TV. Which is basically a gaming/internet/junk channel. Which seems really nice. Maybe that's because i would appreciate that more then the current football madness and as we all know, when it's not football it's hockey, aaaanyhowever. Back to the business at hand. Most of the shows can be found over at video.google.com and if you can't find them there you can head on over to www.g4tv.com and do a serch there for code monkeys.

I'd say without a doubt that this show is aimed at those who enjoy the old school classics. As these will be the people that will best relate to the graphics on the show.

I've also had a chance to go to Stockholm last weekend. So i took it. Really nice weekend. Hooked up with some friends and just cruised around in Stockholm. Listened to some Dubstep, low stream, dark strea...or whatever they were called. Can't remember. Nice music though.

I've been in stockholm for the past few days. Standing as technical support for our simulation program over at encons tent on 'Maskinexpo' in Barkaby, Sweden. It's been a whooping fun filled days where i've got to meet a lot of new and interessting people. Seems like most Machine operators consider spelling more of a problem than handeling their cargo. I also got a chance to see the results of my huuuuge 3D render. A huge 6x3m cloth canvas print explaining the relationship between several gps products. Is was positioned as one of the central pieces in the Scanlaser tent at the fair. Besides the obviously great experience of being able to demo our products i've also gotten the chance to maneuver a real digger :D
A really fun experience although a bit unreal. This one was just a tiny one though. However you could really feel the power behind the boom and stick. Driving it made me realize that it was not all that different from the simulator. I also had a chance to go to the finishing dinner over at scanlaser. It was really nice. There was a live band playing Elvis music. You really can't sit still through all of that.
So my feet was bobbing with the rythm :)
The food was a mix of things. Carribeean buffé i believe it was called. Lots of different new mixtures of foods. We also had a really good crowd at our table. 3 very funny ladies that was just insanely out of control :D
If you know me you know i like that. So i was really happy.

Yesterday(saturday may 25) it was the Swedish Game Awards Ceremony over at Kulturhuset. Great fun and i'm glad i had the chance to visit. The ceremony itself was delayed for about 30 min because of technical difficulties. The cause remains unknown. Later that eavning it was time for the dinner at which only the people from the exibition was invited. So me and a co-worker bummed around in Stockholm for a while and then decided to go for some burger. Where i also hooked up with another friend from Stockholm whom i havn't seen in a really long time. It was Really nice!
After that we went back to Kulturhuset to join the people there at the party. Everything was really nice. Great views, great people and just great. About one or two hours into the party i suddenly felt like i was blushing. Then my fingers started to itch. So i went to the bathroom and washed my hands and my eyes,who had by then also started to itch. However this didn't work all that well so i told my co-worker that i'd call it a night and head for home and so we did. We split up at my home station and he continued home. When i arrived home my sister had prepared some anti-allergic pills for me and i took a cold shower. All of which was really good because suddensly i wasn't going all hot and the red spots on my back and sides was starting to diminish. Eaven my breathing returned to normal from being very heavy.
After that i hit the bed exausted from just about everything.

Sooo i've been feeling kinda off lately. Like something has been missing in my own functionality. However it all seems to be coming together nicely now. Been kinda stressed with work. Had a huuuuge print going out the door this friday. So i'm still kinda nervous about how the end result will be. On the other hand if i hadn't pushed to get it out the door it wouldn't have happened. The good thing though is that however badly my version is. It's still going to be better then the one they had before. I'll post pictures here later on.

someday this blog will change into beeing written with japanese characters. well some parts of it anyway :D
My studying has gone really well. I have a 91% track record on the quizzes in the first course. So in just a few weeks time i'll actually be able to speak the damn language. Right now my practice is mostly naming colors and objects. However the latest lesson covered the weekdays and how to name the months. So i'll be practicing that too from now on.

Tyda.se : Translation site. With audio files for a lot of the words. Useful if you want to look a word up and listen to it's pronunciation.

Adome Kuler : A site which has a good color sample suggestion system. You are basically able to create your own color themes for whatever you might need them for. Be it a website, composition, image etc.

3D.sk : Lots of human resource pictures.

CGTextures.com : A library of free texture resources for private non-commercial work.

Yesjapan.com : Extremely good site for those of us who are itching to learn Japanese. Nihongo wa sugoi desu!!

Mopping up and cleaning of the plate

Just Finished my final entry for the Minichallange #11 over at gameartisans.org. If you want to view the final result you can either go there(the image is under W.I.P 3D Game art)or you can take your time and visit my newly created 3D blog.

The purpose of that blog is to have one personal and one professional blog. So for short wir3D will be my professional blog and Polygon will stay personal. I think wir3d will in the end push me to do more things. Be more thorough and precise. Also improve in what way I'm presenting my models.

Soooo, not that much to report otherwise. Well there is the fact that I'm going to miss the 8 bit festival the 16 may. Which is a real bummer cause i would so like to have been there. Maybe next year. Milkytracker progress is going incredibly slow. No real tunes have been produced through that program as of yet. Although they have some great samples :)
I've also decided to take my wacom back to work. since working from home is out of the question for me. To many other things to do. To many other comfortable things to sit in. Not enough concentration. So that's a good thing i think. Feels good to have 3D etc concentrated at work and so when you come home you can concentrate on just relaxing and getting those extra casual frags.

I'm off for a good piece of coffee and some reading(Imagine FX)

The Dentist

I don't have a fear of going to the dentist. In fact i feel so relaxed that i could actually fall asleep in the dentists chair. So it's not really the pain or the visit itself that annoys the crap out of me. It is more of the fact that each visit costs me like 2.8k. Which is a painstaking loss considering i am planning a trip to Japan. Which will cost me at least 24-28k. And doing the math right i'm not really that confident in raising that money concidering my current salary.

So i've been thinking of a couple of things that i could do about this.
1. Moving to a smaller appartement
2. Eating prepared lunches
3. Cut down on the parties(which are not that many anyways)

...any more suggestions are appriciated. Now it's coffee time. C u laters.

New personal discovery of today is the existence of MilkyTracker. Works on the same principles as Fasttracker II. Nerdtracker seems nice but a bit to undocumented for my taste. Maybe not the program you would want to start your Chiptune career in. Milkytracker seems like a really nice program to start off with. It eaven comes with a decent set of tunes from the start. Maybe now things will be progressing a bit faster then with the Nedtracker. Not having to constantly write down the settings for the instruments on a set piece of paper. But beeing able so save the instruments in the program.

The deadline for the minicompetition #11 is also drawing closer. I'm going to try to finish the texturing of my cart today and hopefully UV-map the character. Then i'd be able to spend the whole next week on texturing him and cleaning up bot his and the carts diffuse textures. I'll be posting the finished result here when i'm done.

Learning the trade

Ok so after several hours of scouring the web for anything understandable to a graphic artist. I gave up. But not after downloading and installing a whole bunch of trackers. Most notably NerdTracker 2. Now i tried this one and couldn't get any music from it. so i kinda kept it installed and moved on to the next one. Then this very morning one of the programmers from next door messaged me. I had showed him NerdTracker 2 yesterday and he had downloaded it as well. So this morning i received a IM from him letting me know that he had been able to create some tunes. At first i have to admit i was a bit skeptical but as he continued on to explain how i became fascinated. So i ended up running across the hall to his workstation to look at how he was creating those much desired sounds. Now i am also able to at least pull out some simple loops from the program. Next step will have to involve learning how to create good loops and then combining them. Hopefully i will be able to create some great tunes and with that I'll apply my artistic skill set and create some nice graphics as well.

The depths of this shall be explored in due course.

Something I've always wanted to be able to do but never understood how to. Actually it's still a bit of a mystery to me. Would be really really nice to understand how to proceed and what the rules of the game so to speak. What kind of equipment do i need and how do i tweak it. where can i find that equipment etc. So many unanswered questions and so few answers. The goal however remains the same. Learn how to do it so that i can in the future create my own loops etc and perhaps even compose the music along with a video to be a powerful Portfolio. Guess I'm gonna have to start by finishing the Japanese lessons though.

I got linked this wonderful clip from Star wars. From what i have been told it's quite old. Howerver i thought it to funny not to link. Njoy!

I have also recieved my 3 orders from Gnomon Workshop. So i will be trying to plan ahead for some free time to watch them. The 3 DVD's were
1. Character Design pipeline
2. Character Modeling for Production
3. Vehicle modeling for Production

All of which i think is going to be a fantabulous experience. Although i still have the 3 digital tutors dvd's to watch...and...the books to read...and...draw...model...argh! to little time and so much i wants to do.

I've also taken up on my japanese again. This time i won't have some crappy work drag me down. So i'm feeling quite motivated. I've also added a new webradio in the linklist to the right SceneSat Radio. If you like game music remixes.

Ok to some Dawn of War might still be fresh in some peoples memories. And especially in mine. There has been some expansions to the game like Winter Assault, Dark Crusade and the upcoming Soulstorm. I'm very excited about all of these expansions and have bought every single one up to Dark Crusade. I actually got 2 copes of Dawn of war and Winter assault. So now i hear word of a upcoming sequel!!. Which would be more then awesome if done by the same studio in the same manors. Just a bit upgraded graphics. Now this is a Teaser so don't expect much.

I am one of those who occationally browse the internet. And as most of you know the internet is filled with 99% useless stuff and 1% cool, intressting and useful stuff. In my browsing i came across a site called Planet B-Boy. Something involving breakdance and evolved. I poked around the site and found some videos and photos that were pretty nice. They also have a webdesign which is very much in contrast to the style of the artists performing. Although a bit annoying with the train having to start and stop at each station when you switch between menus.
I like this way of expression. Dancing(although not being good at it myself) is always nice to look at and even more so if the person practicing it is good at it.

I also had a look at Southland Tales yesterday and i can't quite wrap my head around it. Good or bad i can't but scream "to much america" and absolutely to much god and preaching for my taste.

I ordered some more training DVD's from The Gnomon Workshop. The tab went for just under $279 USD. Which is a pretty hefty sum. But if they are as good as i think they are i will end up earning every cent back and then some.

Prebooked Warhammer Online: Age of Reconing Collectors edition. Which has a tasty content list. I'm really looking forward to adding it to my shelf right next to my CE of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. I might need more shelves.

Why a PSP is more worth getting then a DS

First of all I'd like to say that this being a blog makes these evaluations partial. Since i am a PSP owner and has as of yet bought a DS.

First of I'd like to commend the Nintendo DS for opening a new stream of creativity. With the dual screens, the microphone that you can blow into. But that's about it. I'm not really excited about the graphics. They kinda represents the quality of what a mobile phone can do today. Not to mention that it doesn't have any kind of storing capabilities. Not worth mentioning anyways. This making the future prospects of the Nintento DS rather bleak. Granted that they have a lot of fun games for the Nintendo DS but in the end i would want to use my console(handheld or stationary) for more then just playing games. If there are only games it will surely end up like my Gameboy Advance SP. Cuddled up on a shelf collecting dust.

Now then onto the Playstation Portable. This might not have the battery time to compete with the Nintendo DS but it has so much more to offer. Some really good games, frequent firmware updates and most importantly a upgradeable memory card. The PSP might have had it rough in the beginning being the higher priced of the two handhelds. That and the fact that the UMD-movies wasn't and isn't selling so well. However the power that the PSP has allows for further upgrades and implementation of new ideas. It might be progressing very slowly but it's getting there. The most interesting thing I find is that the possibility to access the internet from anywhere exist within the PSP. The support for this feature is growing larger and larger. Just in Stockholm if I understand correctly there are certain buses where you have free access to a Wi-Fi connection. This also goes for some Cafés. Now here's what makes it interesting. Just this week they launched the GO!messanger for the PSP. Combining IPtele with instant messaging and video-calls. The thing that was described as a paperweight by many people during it's first year is now coming alive. I'd like to think of it as coming into it's own. A flower opening up @ the first rays of sunlight. This is the way to go now weather you are into games, socializing, browsing or if you just wanna listen to the music beat or if you are stuck on a train for an exceedingly long time. Then you can just pop on a good movie to brighten up the ride. That will also have extended capabilities when access to the internet becomes easier with the PSP.

Ratardations and movie madness

I have not been blogging for a while now. Much because i've had a lot to think about and lots on my to-do list. Now that I've been granted at least a tiny bit more spare time you might be seeing more posts. The fun news is that I've seen some nice movies since last time. Going to list mode:

Cloverfield
High School Musical
No Country for old men
The Quite
Stardust

I've yet to se 'rescue dawn' but i have it @ home so it's only a matter of time.

Cloverfield

First off i would like to issue a spoilerwarning!
I had seen the trailer for this movie some time ago. My first impressions was not that great. They included a big *sigh* and "not another crappy no good hollywood movie". So i took my fair time to see it. It started off in a pretty cool way with the camera swapping between then and now. Slowly making it's way up to the critical moment. During which time that you got to know the all characters very well. To further ground the charachters in the viewers heart they initiate and explain the relations between characters in the form of a suprise party being held for our main character. One of the characters that you get to know very well during this party is Hud. Which is being requited as the main cameraman for filming everyones goodbye messages. A very flawed and humane character but you can't blame him for being so. Who has not known a friend with the same weaknesses as him. Not being able to keep his mouth shut but being there when it counts. Making him a very easy person to like.
During the later part of the party they initiate the first tremors of the "thing". No one knows what is happening and everyone is in chaos. Not knowing where they should go they take to the streets trying to evacuate across one of the bridges leading off Manhattan. Followed by tragedies and a faint notion of his love in trouble the main character sets off to her rescue. Accompanied by 3 of his reluctant friends. So far you have not been given more then a glimpse of how the monster actually looks. You are also constantly viewing it from the cam that Hud is carrying with him. Although this might be understandably annoying for some. It was very entertaining for me. Somehow it made me really pay attention. With so much shaking going on there was no telling how long a scene would last. And if there was a glimpse of the monster you would surely not like to miss it. Along their way to the house of main characters love they build up the person Hud. I found myself liking him more and more. You start to sympathize with him. With a few close calls they make it to the pick up zone just in time and scurries on out of there just as the monster comes into view. A few moments later they find themselves on the ground yet again. Hud is now standing directly beneath the monster pointing his camera upwards. Why they decide to do what they did is a mystery to me. But i really really like it. The monster bites Hud in half and you get to follow the cam flying through the air finally landing on the ground. In my mind i was before that thinking "oh god...surely they can't let him survive that. But knowing hollywood they probably will". So it came as a total surprise. A most welcome surprise i must say. All in all i went in with low hopes and left with a smile on my mouth and a pleasantly occupied mind. Going through the different stages of the movie connecting dots and buildups. A very good movie. Well worth seeing. Don't know if it's something i will look at twice though. Since the element of surprise is now gone.

No Country For Old Men

A movie from The Cohen Brothers. Creators of one of my favorites 'O brother where art thou'. This is also a very worthwhile movie. Don't know if i have so much to say about this one. I'm still pondering about how it was set up and why. You have several main characters and you get to follow them as they make their was through the spiderweb of destiny. Ultimately i find myself thinking about what the movie was really about. Referring to the man with the coin it would seem that he represents the oldest of morals and virtues. That our lives are no more then the toss of a coin. Should we choose to call it or not. Just now i had an idea. That that was what the movie was really all about. Who chooses to toss the coin and are we the only ones to toss our coin or can someone else do it for us. If so do we really need to call it and faced with the choice what do we stand to win and loose. Who else stands to loose from the toss of my coin and is the reward worth it. What is the reward. This movie is for me about a man who flipped his own coin unknowingly and reaped the reward unknowingly betting more then he really owned. Then someone came to call his coin.

Stardust

Much like 'The Golden Compass' this story is quite it's own. Having seen it i feel like it was like to little butter smeared over to much bread. There was a lot of interesting twists and turns. A lot of sorrow and happiness. It wasn't a bad movie it was quite alright. But! not up to the standards of 'The Golden Compass'. At least not in my opinion. I would however like to point out that it is at least above average. I can't say that there are a lot of new ideas in the movie and the result is a rather predictable story. But it doesn't really matter because in the end you will still be leaving with a light heart and a smile on your face as good triumphs over the forces of evil. The man who gets his star and finds his courage. Go see it if you haven't already.

Im only going to talk briefly about the rest. Which are High School Musical and The Quite. I'll start of with High School Musical. Which is a Ok movie. Compelling and charming. Almost like the grease of our time. Lots of good music to follow along with and a happy ending. What you would expect from a entertainment flick. Go see it if you got some spare time to kill.
The Quite is however not filled with happiness or anything in the neighborhood. The story is about a girl who is getting abused by her father. Not physically as in he is beating her but sexually. Then a cousin moves there called Dot. Not being able to hear or speak she finds herself unwillingly keeping the secrets of the family inside her. This movie made my skin crawl and i don't know if justice prevailed in the end. Or what happened to the girls after the incident which occurs in the end. If you got the guts to see this one i suggest you try out 'john kichums: The Girl Next Door". A movie that will make your skin curl up and wither. Very very uncomfortable but very good at the same time.

The time is almost 22:00 now and I'm about to head home to the computer and bed. All my stuff is still packed together in one room. The same room in which i sleep i might add. I've made some room for the computer and sound system. But that's about it. Thursday they will start repairing the walls in my new apartment and hopefully they will be done before the weekend. Then maybe i can start moving in for real. My thoughts right now is around buying a projector and then a Playstation3. Would so very much like to have Wipeout HD and Guitar Hero 3. Excellent games in my oppinion. Well worth having if you are into music and high speed racing :)

Movie: Sunshine

A movie about us as people, our future and what goes on inside our minds. Consequenses and the knowing of going on a one way trip. Decisions considered and decisions made. A movie that jolted my feelings and mind. With a good music to match the mood of the movie. I've seen some of the actors playing subroles in previous movies like 'Three Kings' etc. A lot of the mindset in this movie made me think back to the Space odyssé movies. The same kind of calm enviroment but with a intense feeling of a hunter. This movie was more then i thought it would be. Much more and i liked it with the whole of my being. If you have not yet seen this movie then i suggest you see it. Just don't take someone who will talk during it. It will ruin the experience. This is the kind of movie seen and contemplated. I'd opt for seeing this one alone actually rather then with a friend.

Blood bowl for 360, PSP and DS

From the Creators of the much appriciated Chaos League for the PC aswell as the sequel Sudden death. Cyanide is now mounting their resources to see the genre fullfill the console market with its humoristicly bloody game. A game that is actually based on a tabletop game from way back in the old days. When miniatures were still the schiznit. The concept is quite brilliant. Two teams, one pigskin and lots of mayhem. Well worth keeping an eye out for this release. Especially if you have played Chaos League or the table top game.

Quite the interessting pair actually since you won't be required to have a mp3 player stashed away in some obscure pocket. Which leads me to the second thing. Coords, no more coords which is great. So with no more coords there will be no more glitching etc. Which i feel is great.

What i find intressting is both the design of the headphones. They are oval arn't they?! which would lead me to assume that they don't actually cover your entire ear. Which then leads me to ask the question weather they leak or not. And how good they are @ keeeping the sound(bass tremble etc). Also it should be intressting to see how they fit around the head and over the ears. Looking forward to this release and will probably buy :)

The title may be confusing for those of you that can't understand swedish. So i'm going to roughly translate it into english. remember this is a ROUGH translation so don't take it litterally:

I just have to die first - A generation in 8 bit

This is a swedish documentary about growing up with games. More specifically growing up with the NES. Of course the entire documentary is in swedish. I think this is a wonderful idea which has sprung from the minds of the creators. What they are basically doing is that they are interviewing people from the NES era and having them tell their tales. AvP: Requiem

For those of you who have not seen this movie yet. DO SO! and THEN return to read this post.
**Spoiler warning**

Lets begin with a recap of what i thought about the first AvP movie. It sucked...i really didn't like it. Sure there was people dying but i really didn't get the feeling of Alien and Predator. I especially didn't like the fact that one of the humans survived. She should have died! the same with that boy in Transformers. Logic sais that when something large and powerful hits you it will turn your bones into mush and the rest to gibb. AvP: Requiem takes off exactly where the first one ends. Onboard the Predator vessel and the predalien has just exploaded from the dead predators chest. A short while later all of the predators are dead and the vessel returns to earth to crash. I'll skip ahead to the part where i first caught on to the movie. The ship has crashed and onboard they had a number of facehuggers. Which survives the crash and sets off into the wild. The first two people to discover the ship are a hunter and his son. Now i thought the son would somehow survive...but it turns out i was wrong. Both the boy and his father gets an egg impland from a facehugger. A bit later you can see their ribcages bust open and new aliens are released onto the world. Somehow i could better relate to the Aliens and the Predator in this movie. They felt somewhat matched to eachother. Thought through and more calculating/ brutal. There are some moments where the hollywood stencil for making movies shines through. But that's ok. The movie makes up for it with a whole bunch of tasty signature alien killings. As well as signature Predator killings. There are a whole lot of things that become interesting during the movie. Many scenes where i thought that the movie would turn and that the humans would take control. But no sir, not in this movie. The humans find themselves outnumbered and outgunned. And this brings on some tasty scenes when the military rolls into town. Just to find the Aliens lying in wait.

All in all. This movie restored some of my faith in the AvP movies. Not all but some. now they just need to keep with the story and make it more gritty and dark. I'm betting on the next one to unveil the creation or revelation of Weyland Wutani coorperation. And some of their actions behind closed doors. If you like aliens and predators then i suggest you see the AvP movies. But do it without the expectations. My grade it: Definately worth seeing.

I've had the chance to have a look at some great movies during the past weeks. That and i've been modeling and playing DOTA for as much as my sparetime can endure. I've also managed to slip in a After work beer. Very proud indeed. However lets skip to the important parts. The movies that i saw was Eragon and the newly released Baewolf. First of is Eragon. I saw posters and commercials for this movie a long time ago. Back then i didn't really think much of it. "Another teen money movie" i thought to myself. The very boyish cover almost made me scream. Then i got a chance to se it so i took it. "I've seen a hell of a lot worse movies in my days" was basically what i was thinking. Now just so you guys understand. I like dragons, with great emphasis on the word like. I'm also very very fond of magic and fantasy. Needless to say, this movie fit me like a glove. Sure there were some moments where the acting and directing was lacking in performance. However what really held me there was the magic of watching the bond develop between the boy and the dragon. I was really cought up in it. I must admitt that during some of the scenes i did have some water in my eyes. But just a little ;)
So when all markers have been accounted for this makes up for one really touching, inspiering and captivating movie. Well worth seeing. Not only that but it has restored some of my faith in movies. Faith i thought lost in the ages.
The other movie i just finished watching today actually. Baewolf an animated story about the ancient tale of Baewolf. Now i am no groundlaying fan of Baewolf. I have not read the books and i have not indulged me in delving deeply into how the story goes. The movie though was excellent. Sometimes a bit shabby real obvious animation errors. Often in form of stiffy characters and strange expressions. However i felt like the rendering was nice and i got really attached to the hero Baewolf. I felt like i could relate to the story and for obvious reasons i was nailed to my seat when the "thing" appeared. When you see the movie you will know what i mean by "thing". Don't wanna give away anything that might spoil the movie for you.

I've also been watching some old school Kung Fu movies. With the oh so classical english dubb. Great fun actually. I can heartly recommend watching one or two for the sheer fun of it.

I have been looking through some old westerns and Kung fu movies the past weeks. I've become especially intressted in the relationship between Sergio Leone and Akira Kurosawa. The reason for this is that some time ago i bought a box with 3 different Kurosawa movies. Amongst them was the movie Yojimbo. Here is a description of the plot outline:

"Sanjuro, a wandering samurai enters a rural town in nineteenth century Japan. After learning from the innkeeper that the town is divided between two gangsters, he plays one side off against the other. His efforts are complicated by the arrival of the wily Unosuke, the son of one of the gangsters, who owns a revolver. Unosuke has Sanjuro beaten after he reunites an abducted woman with her husband and son, then massacres his father's opponents. During the slaughter, the samurai escapes with the help of the innkeeper; but while recuperating at a nearby temple, he learns of innkeeper's abduction by Unosuke, and returns to the town to confront him."

And so just a few days ago i started watching 'A fistfull of dollars' one of Sergio Leone's western cowboy movies and i could not shake the tingeling sensation of familiarity. So i started to remind myself of how Yojimbo played out. Of course i noticed that both movies play out almost the same. The plot outline for 'A fistfull of dollars' goes like this:

"An anonymous, but deadly man rides into a town torn by war between two factions, the Baxters and the Rojo's. Instead of fleeing or dying, as most other would do, the man schemes to play the two sides off each other, getting rich in the bargain."

Now, for some of you this might not come as much of a chock. I mean it is pretty known that both Sergio and Akira has drawn inspiration from each others movies. But this i must say it the most direct link i've ever "stubled" across. If you havn't seen these 2 movies i suggest you do it. They are both really entertaining and fun to watch. I'd like to explore this moer but right now i've got to work.

Hello peeps
It's been a lot of on and off again blogging. So much to do now that the new year has started. I'll try to update more often in the future. Or at least be more consecutive in my updates.

And now, the news!

Since my return from the holidays I've managed to go swimming at least once. That was all it took. Don't know why but i must have strained a muscle doing so. Cause my neck hurt like hell the day after. I was barely able to sit down and work properly. My guess, wild as it is, are that the muscle was already weak before i started swimming. And thus the inevitable followed. Quite foolish of me to think that i could carry on as per usual. Not having done any workout over the holidays and all. Maybe i should have taken it one gear slower then usual. The real pain however didn't arrive until the day after. I actually had to call in sick. That morning and night was just pure pain. No matter which position i was in my neck would still hurt and trying to move around was just a wasted effort. It would most often hurt even more since i had to use the muscles in my neck to move the head. Which of course meant pain. That day was basically laying in bed and trying not to move. With the occasional bathroom and food visit. Which of course brought more pain.

Can't write anymore atm. More updates this eavening.

I feel like i really need to vent this oppinion and get some feedback on it. Hopefully someone! who reads this blogg will think it worth while. This is however written in swedish. So a big "i'm sorry" to all you non swedish reading folks.

"Jag var i kontakt med eran kundtjänst om att boka om en biljett. Jag fick då reda på att man inte kan boka om sin biljett om man har en viss sorts biljett typ. Som t.ex sista minuten eller just nu biljetter. Samt att man också måste vara ute i minst 7 dagar innan resans avgång för att kunna omboka biljetten.

Rent logiskt så borde altså sista minuten och just nu biljetterna vara mycket billigare än sina normala motsvarigheter(1 klass, 2 klass). Ändå så ser jag på eran bokningssida att det är ofta som det knappt skiljer sig någonting i pris mellan de olika valmöjligheterna. Det är till och med så att det finns BILLIGARE '2 klass' resor än vad det finns 'just nu 2 klass'. Ibland även billigare '1 klass' biljetter än 2 klass.

Och eftersom jag inte får tillbaka någonting från min just nu biljett som jag skulle vilja få ombokad. Så finns det ingen anledning för mig att avboka den biljetten. Avbokning är för mig en helt annan fråga. Men om man skall omboka! sin biljett så borde detta vara ett alternativ även om man är inom de där sju dagarna. Jag kan gå med på att man inte kan få tillbaka pengar om man ombokar till en billigare resa. Samt att man måste lägga mellanskillnaden om resan man bokar om till är dyrare. Men alternativet borde finnas."

Shoot em up

I just finished watching this movie. Now i don't like ordinary movies. But occationally there are movies like this one that just grabs my attention and manages to hold it throughout the lenght of the movie. I think it has to do with the graphical nature of the movie and me being a graphic artist that just goes together really well. I have seen the guy playing the main character(Clive Owen) in one other movie 'Sin City'. Also a very graphical and dark story. There is also one more movie in which clive is cast called 'Children of men'. This one i havn't seen yet but looking at these two i figure that i've got to se this one aswell.

Since i don't want to give anything away from this exciting movie i must ask you to stop reading here. Because below here is my thoughts and memorable moments.

The look of this movie has a very dark and almost poetic feeling. The well orchestrated words that are delivered corresponds well with the accurate and unforgiving bullets. There are a lot of memorable moments in this movie. Most of them are fast action heavy accurate shooting other are the gushing blood pouring from the henchmen as then go down in droves. You would think that amongst all of this the spoken words should be drowned. But no. In fact all the fast paced action and high tempo really makes you wan't to listen to what the characters are saying. The sudden pause had my mind running fast and a dialogue or monologue was the perfect pause. This made the movie feel action packed yet though thru.
Another thing that also struck my mind was the fact that this movie had a clear sense of the good and evil parts. You could easily tell the good from the bad. Much of this is well orchestrated with the cunning use of symbols. Like for instance in the beginning of the movie. Where the main character rescues a "helpless" woman from being killed. Then rescuing her babie. By this time i can promise that everyone in the audience will be routing for him. Then later on he tries to abandon the babie. Everyones thought must have been going "is he really..." and without ever finishing that thought the action kicks in and he is forced to rescue this child once again from the clutches of evil. Thus earning more hero points. If you look for the symbols you will notice them and realise that they are actually quite cleverly placed througout the entire movie.

I'm going to watch this one again. maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But someday.

Post New Years

The time was 17:00 and i still didn't know where i was going or with whom i was going to kick in the new year with. I was down to a few choices. Either i decided to celebrate with my friends from the "old days". Now we all know the end to those parties and i really have no desire to go there again. Booze, tears, vomit and playing shrink. I'm just not up for it anymore. I could also choose to head on out to some of more recent friends in Stockholm. This is a tempting alternative since i know these guys. And they are for a fact really fun. I like having them around. Always lots to talk about and we come from the same breed. The predictions for this party was in my oppinion really really great :D
However i decided to opt for the last choice. Which of course presented itself at the last possible second. Actually i was already going for option nr.2 and was almost out of the door when this one presented itself. It was located in stockholm. On a boat!. I like boats and the person who got me invited...well i like him too ^_^. He's an all out fun guy. When i heard the explanation of what was going to happen at that party i was just thrilled. But the key was that i only knew one person at that party. Everyone else was going to be a new face. That is what made me decide. It all turned out basically the way i was hoping. Lots of laughs and talking. Some dancing and then some more laughing and i eaven got a new years kiss :)
What amazed me most was the boat though. Imagine a fishermans boat. Not a wooden one but made for fishin out at sea. The outside looked authentic for sure. But the inside was completely redecorated. The entire inside had been made into an apartement. Fully livable and comfortable. With some great spaces and all the comforts you could need. They eaven had a black piano standing next to the dancefloor. Almost everything was made from wood on the inside which made it blend really well with the all out boat enviroment. And where the loading hatches had been on the deck. There was now several windows. so you could look up and see the sky. They hade done some nice things to it though. They had put small light lines...don't really know the word for it. But it looked really really nice.
The people there was just the sort of mix that you would want it to be. Although the majority was(for some reason) from either Kalmar or Skelefteå. Something that seemed to suprise a lot of people. It was such a nice blend aswell. Suits, punks, dancers, gamers(that would be me), coffepeople and everyone just got along. The eavning progressed really smooth and quiet. I have to say that this is one of the more successfull New years i've had.
There is still no contest of which ones are the best. But those memories i will keep for myself. To much feeling and connection to be explained in words.

As far as promises for the new year. I havn't made any. I am quite content with how i live my life at the moment. And i'm always thinking of ways to improve myself anyways. I know what i need though. I need people around me that are inspiering and creative. Fun to be with. What i don't need is people who are looking for comfort, empathy, acnowladgement. If we are gonna learn lets learn together. You need all the colors of the rainbow for it to shine.

There was a message lurking in my inbox this morning. I am about to say "i don't usually catch on to chainletters" but i'm thinking that there are some that i just can't overlook. Mainly because they come from people that are fun :)
This one had a challange in it and that challange was to name one music artist beginning with the letter T. Not just any music artist but my favourite one(or someone i like listening to). In the category T. Not an entierly trivial thing. Since my main source of music right now comes from the site OC Remix.
And there are a lot of artists there that begin with the letter T. The Final verdict though falls on this one.

The reason for this is that it both reminds me of a game i really enjoyed. See if you can guess which one. It also brings back sweet memories of when i used to sit @ home in front of the TV and just enjoy the good old NES. When it was still exciting and new. There is still stuff i wan't to do and buy for my NES. Restore it if possible. But just one time. I'd like to play 4 player 'World Cup'. That would be sooo sweet.
I have not decided weather or not to send this one further or if it stops here. Can't really say i know anyone who would continue this. And i don't like forwarding chainletters. So i'm going to end the challange here. At least on my end.

This week has been a strange and tumbling week. A bunch of new things to look through and lots of lessons learned. This week has been really tough both on my mind and my health(i think). Going to bed at 00-01 and getting up at 06 just in time to arrive at work by 09-10. Maybe i am just that tired. I dunno. I feel like i'm not getting stimulated enough creatively @ work. Maybe that is why i have a hard time motivating myself. I should try something that my teacher told me a long time ago. "Make everything a challange" he said. Well basically anyway. Maybe i need to make this a challange somehow. but how....that's a though one. Wish i had co-workers that were a little bit more open minded and accepting. It kinda feels like i have to bend myself just to get to know them. Which is not a good thing. It kinda makes me feel like they are not trusting me. Which in turn makes me wonder why i should trust them. So i kinda do what i always do. Act friendly and smile. Tell the jokes and be intressted. I so wish i could read their minds.

Something else is underway outside of work though. Much to my liking and amusement. Something creative and entertaining. Which lets me create my own stuff from beginning to end. Just the way i like it. There is also the reward of extra cash if all is successful. And shiny loot is always welcome :D

And more things are amassing at the horizon. Just a few heads up for those living in Stockholm.

13-16 party party :D occupado the 13 and probably the better half of 14 but "hey, i'm up for whatever"
Those dates are of course December.
And if all goes well i will be gone from sweden on the 27 december. For at least 2 weeks hopefully 3. The very goal of this journey is　日本 and for those of you who don't know where that is. Well google is a good place to find out.

Bloggin' it

Hello peeps,

Havn't really had the time to blogg in a while now. Time or i just havn't felt like blogging. Then mr.off came along and poked me saying "du måste blogga mer". So i kinda felt like hell yeah. Honestly the break i've been taking has been rather good and this is the perfect oppertunity to take up the blogging again. Perfect...why you ask?, in a silent kinda way.

Perfect because i've just put my life on the phono and its slowly playing the beats. I'm just waiting for the vocals to start. Seriously though, i've just decorated the apartement in Gothenberg. It's coming together really nice. Will have some pictures up here soon for you guys/girls to see. Red curtains people....red curtains :D
The thought so far is to keep my workstation elevated from the floor and keep the comfort stuff on a lower level. just to get some seperation between the two "shapes" as i like to call them. The only thing i'm in kinda troubled with is that the colors on the walls should be a white-brown and dark brown-orange. that way the colorfull red curtains would stand out more and the different "shapes" would be more visible. Every item in the room is very bleak in color. lots of black, white, gray-brown colors. Which is why the redness of the curtains is so awsome. ;D

The only danger i really see is that i will start to decorate and paint the apartement only to get a lot of trouble in the end. and we don't want that people. No than you! to getting charged for new wallpaper or holes in the walls. No just keep it like this. Simple, movable and easy to rearrange.
I realized something though. I need a table for the kitchen if there are to be any x-mas baking. I really want this. It's a nice tradition and it is really fun doing it with friends. So i hope to get some of the newer aquisitions ;) from work to visit my place and get a feel for the atmosphere. hehehe i hope they "get in the groove" xD and find their "magic" hehe.

I'm currently enjoying some really nice music from Kid Koala. Awsome! if you havn't heard him, it, that. Well then you should. Although i'd say it's an aquired taste. No for the common joe, barbie or jar head.

I've decided to take up painting again. i really need to make some new paintings. Colorful ones. Preferably Warhammer-esque. Got some good sketches to start from. i just need to get them into the computer. The urge to do and create is coming back to me. There are several reasons. The visit here in Gothenberg by my parents and the great music discovered recently. Namely Hifana and Kid Koala(thnx mr.off i'm honestly thrilled about this album). But also having a place of my own. My own refuge from the surrounding stupidity of the world ;). My own little zen of creation and regeneration.

Now don't think i've forgotten you peeps in Stockholm ;)
I still keep you in my mind. You all make up for one really crowded bunch. I kinda wonder when i'm going to have the time to visit you all. I'm also wondering when some of you will now take the step and visit me here in Gothenberg. It will be exciting to se who dares to challange the distance.

I've also read a book. Finished it quite recently. It's called Mass Effect - Revelations and it is a prologue to the game slated for the Xbox360. The game and book is based in a sci-fi universe and includes a great deal of depth to the characters aswell as plot. The book itself covers the story up to the start of the game and it's purpouse is to give you a basic understanding of the univers and the different political dilemmas between the different species in this specific known universe. It does a great job in conveying the charachters and if you delve deeply into the book like me then it will take you on a ride you will soon forget. The writing in this book reminds me about two others that i've read before. They are: Warhammer - Mark of Chaos and Warhammer40k - Firewarrior. I find myself really liking this kind of style. Mainly because it really lets you get into the shoes of the different characters. See their emotions and allow yourself to be played by the writer. Follow the flow aka the red line. Let yourself be seduced by the world presented to you on the smorgosboard of fiction. If you havn't read any of these books i strongly recommend picking them up. Although the Warhammer - Mark of Chaos -book is not avalible in any stores. Only by purchasing the Special edition of the game to you get the book(along with a bunch of other great loot i must add ;)

As some of you might have noticed. I've been working like a mademan these days. Eaven working weekends and nights for the upcoming deadline. It feels kind of strange though. Now that the Crunch is over and we have delivered our load(5 in the morning today). There is a strange calm that washes over you. Not really the feeling of Finished, no. It's more like someone has taken the lid off. You are suddenly without any obligations other then to show up at work in good time and sit there. It's like i'm on a relaxed standby status. If there are things reported i go in and fix them.

meanwhile i've downloaded a ton of PSP demos and tunes. Amongst them a game which i at first found interessting but not enough to play it. The game is Loco Roco and it's one helluva game to play ;D
Great music, lovable characters, funny enviroments and great gameplay. Can't believe that i missed out on this game when it was released like a year ago or more i think.
I also made sure to get some more music for Wipeout Pure. They had a whole bunch of them at the psp-store for free download. Well worth it i would say.

I also ordered 2 albums from a Japanese group called Haifana. The albums are 'Channel H' and 'Fresh Push Breakin'. I think they called the style Breakbeat. Great music none the less and i'm looking forward to the arrival of the two dvd&cd combos when they arrive. At which time i will rush to the designated delivery area :)

It's kinda strange though. i've been working like crazy. yet i still feel healthy and i think that i've been a lot more effective now then before. Feels like it is because we are all sitting here working together constantly. when it's not crunch it feels like this group is a lot less a team then in the crunch. Or could it be that i've actually had some company on the late nights that i usually don' have. And i have had waaay to many late nites here in Vara Office. I am hoping that i will get a chance to use all the flex i've gathered. Then hopefully i can use that to finish upp some of the projects i've started. This is a good coincidence since the project is soon over. I'm buying a new computer and i've got time to finish my projects. :D

Might still be a great autumn. It certainly has that potential.

Late nite saturday or early morning sunday

Skype is a wonderful program. I've been enjoying it for a while now with mr.off. It works really well with both audio and video. We eaven tried a filetransfer and it went ok(if you disregard my firewall chopping 90% of the speed). I'm absolutely going out for a cam of my own monday morning. Really enjoy our conversations mr.off :D
Soon the circle is going to be complete. I'm hoping that i will get the chance to visit you next weekend :D:D maybe shoot off a film or two and say hi to kioskis and your little zoo.

Btw i've now beacome addicted to Bisca Brownies. Small bite size brownies that just melts in your mouth. Unfortunately they are not that good for anything else since it's basically chocolate and suger in them. Maybe i'll jump back on that taek-won-do training. :D
Honestly i really need something to do after work. I've thought about taking up my swimming again. Since the bath is so close to the office. But then again i really don't have the time after work to spend 1,5 hours on training. Maybe that will come now that i get some more time outside of work. although i might dedicate that to tutorials n stuff. i'm still going to need the workout. Oh well off to bed now for me. Sleep tight you little zerglings.

Waking up

Just a brief on what happend just yesterday.
I woke up and went to the shower. Turned on the water and felt it. It was cold. So i figured "hey i'll just brush my teeth while waiting for the hot water to arrive". So i went off and brushed my teeth. Came back to the shower and the water was still cold. I was like "ok, i don't need to shower that badly i'm still quite fresh". So off to the office i went. When you are crunching to meet a deadline you don't work normal hours. So when the clock reached 23:00 and you havn't had a shower for like 2 days or so. You don't really feel at ease with yourself. So i said to myself "ok, no matter what i really need a shower now when i get home". I got home and the water was still cold. "ok, but they might have fixed it so that tomorrow i will have hotwater".

You know the feeling when you wake up?
That something is going to make you remember something. Something you had completely Forgotten about. When i was up in the swedish north fishing with my father. We took a bath in a stream and it was cold, arctic cold. This morning i just had to take a shower no matter what. No matter if the water was cold or acid i had to take a shower. But i was hoping that they have had the brains to get it fixed. No, of course not. How naive of me to believe that they would fix something like this. But if you have to take a shower you have to. So i stepped into the water and the bath i had in that stream seemed like the carribeean. Warm and pleasant compared to this. Standing like a shivering white pale stick in the shower. Your only hope to get it overwith as fast as possible. But your arms and hands are to rigid from the cold and your body is shivering as if mr.T himself would have picked you up by the feet and shook you around like a matchstick. The only thing driving me was the anger that somewhere that frakkin landlord was standing in some crypt with his hand on the hotwater-tap. Laughing with every fiber of his being. And when you get out the wind in the apartement makes your body shiver eaven more. So you leap from in the shower towards your towel and wrap it around as much bodysurface as possible. Then you go sit on the edge of the bed and wonder what the hell just happend and where you can score the nearest fix of coffee.

Oh well, back to work now with some serials and a HUGE cup of coffee.

I finally had a chance to sit down and do some sculpting in z-brush. wow! i must say that the joy just jumped right back into me. Once again i am reminded that this is where i should be and not down with the fucking tools copy pasting SHIT. It's been a while since i felt this. The sensation of wanting to do something and do it right. The sensation of creating something. moving towards something wonderful. just playing around and watching your creation grow from a simple polygon to a fully fledged model. it's something very special. Below is a WIP(work in progress) screen from Z-brush. Can't wait to get it to finished state.

Thoughts in the rain

I've been as alway thinking about how i wan't to proceed forward with my artistry. What i wan't to sculpt in 3D and what vehicles i wan't to do. Creating new worlds is also something that is a intressting concept for me. My anxiety is that i will freeze at my current level and then in a year of two i will have to go looking for a new job. Since this task that i have now isn't at all challenging i'm growing more and more bored. This in turn keeps me from doing a good job.
I know that this may seem like whining but if you were lets say a Photographer and you got a job within the industry. The first thing you are set on doing is sort photos. Eaven though you know you can take better ones yourself.
Somebody better realise that this is not graphical artist things. I can unfortunately feel the anger and dissapointment beneath my skin. It's not making things easiers i can tell you that. Just let me sit down and do some stuff....ARGH!

*sigh*
but you know what. maybe it IS like this in the industry. Maybe the hollywood fenomenon has spread like a tumor to the gaming industry. Reuse everything as much as possible. If it worked before why shouldn't it work now. Now of course you can reuse assets. That's not the thing. I'm agains the idea of building a "new" thing and reusing EVERYTHING from the "old". and i am boggling to find out how they are thinking and why they can't se where the industry is heading.
i'm just going to continue saving my money because if things continue like this i'm gonna take em and /quit. Spending my time slaving for some /?&?/(=%&¤/%/¤%&( punks who can't se the forrest ain't worth it :(

Vacation is over

Ok so now i've had my vacation for this year basically. Two stinking days of sweet sweet rest. Started last wednesday with me going from Vara to Stockholm and then heading out into the archipellago. I met up with the family at our summer resort and we set out with flashlights to catch some crayfish. Later that night we also checked the bigger cages we had planted out on deeper waters. The first catch was not that great but we managed to accumulate around 50 something crayfish during the three days i was there. Which is a really good catch concidering what animal has ravaged the lake. Saturday and it was time for the annual crayfishparty. This year almost all of the relatives was present. Grandpa wasn't since he is quite old and well he basically can't speak that well etc... :( Grandma was also not present R.I.P since a while back. All in all it was a pretty good event eaven with people missing.

I also had a chance to tour a swedish studio in stockholm. A really nice experience and i must gif a lot of credits to my guide for giving me this oppertunity :)
We also had a blast eating in stockholm at Kungshallarna and later on we had dinner at Shogun in Gamla Stan. To round off the eavning we sat down at Dragons Lair and played some PsP.

I had planned on going back to Vara on Sunday eavning. Just so i could spend some time with a friend. The result being that there was no train leaving for vara that night. So instead i had to take the train 06:05 in the morning. Which is a real pain because then i have to wake up at like 04:00. Needless to say i was pretty worn down today when the clock hit 16-17. Something just switched off my ability to work as a human being. So i went home and had some sleep and then i went back into the office.

Win!

Vacation and anxiety

I havn't really been able to make anything concrete resently. Not anything private that is. Everything that i do turns out half-finished it seems. Like i lack the energy or focus to finish it.
One thing that i managed to finish though is the Eye-tutorial.
With that finished my next goal is the Skin shading tutorial. Which
is probably going to be just as tedious as this one. But! I have to keep one thing clear in mind. That is that there is no point in me doing the skin shading tutorial unless i have something to try it on. Thus i will first complete my Z-brush-tutorials and make a good base-anatomy guy. Which i can then use as model for my skinshader :)

I also had the time to make this one during a weekend. Just to point out that i generally don't feel all that motivated during the weekends. So for me to do this is a good step in the right direction. Utterly un-motivating when there are no motivated people around you.

Now my plan with this one is to get it into z-brush and just create some anomalities that woul occur in cast iron. UV-mapping etc should not be a problem. Right now i'm at a standstill tough. Deadline for the upcoming project in just a couple of weeks. Which is making me nervous. Cause if i don't get a renewed employment it's basically home to mum and dad. which i of course don't want to. So i need time to finish this one and my z-brushing and my skinshading. But i don't have the time because this is about the same time that the crunch starts.

It's funny sometimes. You start scratching the surface of something and notice all the cracks in the armor. The cracks are results of many small things but you can still pinpoint who and what lead to them. You notice things last second and it's not on your table to fix them. It takes a good deal of patience to get things ready for milestones. It's bad enough to have cracks. What doesn't make it any better is that we totally lack someone with the production oversight. Someone who can notice these cracks in time and direct resources to fix them.
I can't really say that this all brings me into a good mode. Fortunately it's raining outside.

*sigh*

In times like these the only thing that one can do is make sure that you own back is clear. Do the things you are told to do. Do them good and withing the time limit and you will be fine.

In other not as depressing news. Here is a tutorial progress screen. Unfortunately i lacked the software to finalize the tutorial. But i'm looking into that.

Trippin to stockholm and back

Last week was a real crusher. Some changes that from my point of view was "simple" changes. They actually turned out to be real nut busters. This in turn led to me having to stress my work. Which in turn let to small errors here and there. Which in turn lead to a lot of wasted time. All of this just added to the stress. This week i have promised myself that i will not rush things. I will stay with them until they are finished. Because it would be to much of a crime to let small things slip through. Which would eventually lower the quality of the product.

On other more fun news. Fun of course related to buying stuff. I bought a portable HD with a capacity of 160 gb. You can see the tiny little angel
here on the left . Here are some further specifications:

This personal "upgrade" is of great importance for me. Now i will be able to move more freely between places without the trouble of to little space etc. A problem that a normal USB-mem could easily face you with. For a portable device 160 gb are pretty ample for transferring stuff from one place to the other. Granted that if you start packing music, movies and other shit on the HD it will fill up pretty fast. But that is not my intention. This is going to be solely for business. Stacking texture-libraries, models, scenes, renders etc is going to be the main function.
A portable backup for all my work. Which i can then empty on my stationary computer at home from time to time. Besides I've got ample space for movies and music on my Psp.

Although i missed my chance to get some nice headphones this weekend. I still acquired some info on a Swedish store near Kista which supplies them. I've also got their number. So there will be telephoning :)

Scouting for new headphones

It was actually something i first heard through a friend of mine. Which will be referred to as "skäggmiffot" or "the beard freak". Quite some time ago he mentioned that he was hunting for Skullcandy headphones. I think he actually sent me a link to. Nice and stylish looking headphones. Didn't pay that much more attention to it. Though maybe i stored the name in the back of my head for when i was to head out hunting for headphones :)
So here i am. Quite some time has passed and i am looking at street pictures for inspiration. I stumble across some Japanese/goth photos with girls dressed in the most wildest and coolest of outfits. One of them had a pair of Skullcandy headphones. Suddenly it popped into my head that "hey, i need headphones. mine will soon be a smoking heap of dust.". So i googled the skullcandy site and started looking around for potential models and then i found them.

So what have i done for midsummer. I've had a relaxing weekend with headache, counterstrike and modeling. Really just taking it in my own pace. Needed for both body and soul. If you wan't to see the progress you can go to my portfoliopage. I've also started 2 other projects. project 1 is modeling a friends face. He was kind enough to supply me with reference photos so it should be all fun and games to model. Second one is actually from to many late nights. See there is this show called ghost whisperer. One of the main characters is played by Jennifer love Hewitt. So basically i made a google search and got some good reference. So i have quite a few projects in the reference stages. All i need to do is to get them started :)

Overlord Demo

There are certain games that you remember. Maybe not because they are top of the line in graphics or storytelling. But you remember them for the sheer fun you had playing them. I downloaded the Overlord Demo and decided today that i would take it for a spin. Pretty dull beginning but i must say i appreciated nice caricature of Yoda. That in itself started the demo in the right direction. I must say that i was giggeling from time to time when i saw him.
There is a bit of dialog in the beginning. Listening to the old fart speaking. But as soon as you get to beat up that old jester the game takes a whole new turn. You can almost envision the evil deeds you are to perform in the missions to come. Speaking of missions. The one included in the demo is a blast to play through. You develop a good feel for how to control your minions. I must have laughed quite loudly when i sent em off to slaughter some of the peaceful lambs near the first village. It's hard to describe but seeing a minion riding a lamb is a beautiful sight. They have portrait the minions in such a good way to. They look so happy and energetic when they get to destroy. Seeing how i liked to destroy the lambs you can surely tell how ecstatic i was when i got a chance to try out the new fireball spell included in the Demo. Toasting a bunch of overgrown halflings in a wheat field, you can imagine the fun i had. In the beginning you get to a pumpkin farm. Which has been overrun by the overgrown halflings. So you order your minions into the pumpkins to destroy them. Which of course results in several of them using pumpkins as helmets. Hilarious! :D

This game comes for me with a good sense of nostalgia. Remembering from when i was young and played games like Dungeon Master, Citizen Kabuto etc. This game has almost the same feel as those games and you can really feel that dark humor laying dormant. Just waiting for the right moment to surface and burst you into a hail of laughter. I hope i have a chance to play more of this game. Chances are i won't but i am at least going to try. Cause this is a game i want to play through. So if you have played Dungeon Master and Citizen Kabuto and liked them. I strongly recommend this game.

Today work and tomorrow dreamhack

I was so tired this morning. I could hardly open my eyes and drag myself off to work. The thing is that yesterday. I got home really early. Which i'm never going to do again. I basically managed to eat my dinner and fall asleep around 19:00. This in turn resulted to me waking up at 23:30 and fully energized. Just to try and get a feeling of tiredness i had a Sandwich and some green tea. worked pretty well. I think i fell asleep around 02-03. and woke up at 06:30. Came to work at 09:00. Right now i'm feeling a bitt stiff but that's just the morning still left in me. I think i will go exorcise it with some coffee in a very near future. Could be that i get a crash of tiredness during the afternoon though. Gonna have to prep for that with lots of water and energy beverages.

One thing i'm really happy about though. I've been keeping down my sugarlevels with bananas. I can tell you this, it's working! it's really working. although i am crunching bananas like crazy it's a whole lot better then eating candy. I must admit that there has been the occasional Twixbar but other then that i am in the clear. What's even better it that this has drastically reduced my urge for sweets. Hopefully this change of habit and the fact that i am doing situps and pushups in the eavning is going to lead to a healthy figure :)

Exciting times

So i've worked for just about a month now at Simbin Development Team AB. Great team and really nice office. Maybe nice isn't the right word but comfortable. I get to basically live here which is great for me cause i get access to my workstation for as long as i desire.

I am basically living life right now. And if that wasn't enough. Dreamhack is coming up. 5k to 10k computers in one big big place. The nice think is that because i'm going there to work it's free entry. To me this is going to be one big exciting experience. Lots of things to do and lots of stuff to look at. From what i've read of their website there is going to be a big BBQ. I've also read that there will be a band performing 8-bit music. Which i hope is going to be awsome. Besides that there is lectures and competitions etc. I can really feel my blood tickle me when i think about it.
So naturally i'm going to have to go full throttle :D

I'm going to make sure though that i get a chance to visit the other Companies that are attending Dreamhack. Might be a chance to make some connections and maybe hook up for a party later that night. I hope that this event is everything that i hope for :)
I'm sure to make everything i can out of this experience. Do not be surprised if i happen to ignite myself xD

Work is play and i wan't to do it all day

I must say that the start of this summer is turning out to be a pretty good one. I've got work which is really good. I'm doing something i like and always dreamed of doing. Right now the sun is shining like crazy out there but the office is cool and there is a light breeze since i've opened two of the windows. If i ever get hungry i can just take the elevator 2 stories down and voilá there's ICA.
The apartement i live in is like 3 min from the office. Really good since i have to worry less about mornings and eavnings.

There is also a lot of really good roads here. Which means that when i get a hold of my inlines i can get some proper exercise. One thing is pretty unfortunate though. I'm stuck here in the middle of farmingland with no lake or sea in the vicinity. There is a bathhouse but it's not nearly the same thing.

I've also started a side project to practise my artsy fartsy skills ^_^
Since the work i'm doing right now is really really fun. BUT! it is not as creatively rewarding. So i need to hone my skills and improve on my own. Which i think is going to go really well :)
There is still a big question though. What will happen at the end of august/september. Since my employment ends at that point and i want to make sure that anotherone picks up. Preferably within the same genre. Makin 3D/2D for games. Basically i'm going to make sure that i do well on this job so i get the best foundation possible for continuing within the genre :)

I remember back in school. Man i could not for the love of god motivate myself. My attitude was like "as long as i don't flunk i'ts ok". Then i started at playgroundsquad. Man oh man. I worked like crazy trying to learn everything. I've come such a long way since then. From a guy who didn't care much for work. overslept and just didn't give a rats ass about some days. To a man who goes to work, does his work and then some. There are 2 people that i owe the most. They are mum and dad. *Salute*

Jomenvisst, som en gammal gnällig kärring på 90 år som har hängpattarna nedstoppade i byxfickorna.

Visste ni att om man bor i vara och vill åka till stockholm. Då måste du boka din biljett genom att ringa de små svinen. Det roliga är då att det blir dyrare att åka. Vara station - Stockholm C 1200:- Jag skulle juh vilja säga "sug min SJ" men faktum är juh att det är SJ som säger "sug min sverige".
Det får vara värt resan. Det är trotsallt en koncert och sen SGA på det. Plus att man får träffa lite sköna kompisar och festa lite.

Har börjat mitt första jobb som 3D/2D grafiker. Äntligen så har jag börjat göra spel också istället för att bara spela dem. Kul också att man kan se frammåt. Att det finns möjligheter. inte bara i en riktning utan flera :)
Jag har ganska bred utbildning. Man skulle kunna tro att den inte är så ingående. Men det är den. Lite för lite så fyller jag på den med nya spännande saker ^^

Vara <--- staden där jag jobbar. Väldigt lugn stad. Man skulle kunna säga att det är en liten håla ^^ men det funkar. Det är lugnt och jag har bara 3 min från jobbet till hemmet :)
Enda jag saknar är dock någonting att aktivera mig med. Det skall finnas en simhall lite längre bort. Men jag har inte vågat mig ut på äventyr dit ännu. Planen är iaf att behålla träningen 3 gånger i veckan. beroende på hur långa längderna är(hoppas på 50 eller 75) så skall jag väl till en början försöka lägga mig runt 100 längor. Får se om jag orkar ^_^ blir en kul utmaning. Skippar jag att krawla så borde jag klara det. Men jag har så svårt att inte göra det.

Vore kul att spela badminton med några igen...*saknar falun* så skönt gäng att sitta med. aktiva och inte lika deg som här. Lika intresse i intresset också.

Har tagit upp intresset för Gimp och Blender igen. Skall ta och lära mig de här programmen. Eftersom de är Open source så är det bra o kunna om man skall köra eget :D

Of course i was right. The train took me across sweden for some strange reason i will never understand. Technical error also added to the delay since they had to turn the train around. There was like a helpless rat in a very long tube charging forth at200 km/h to destination unkown.

Now i have to decide weather or not to go to a concert next weekend. I've payed the concert ticket which is about 500:-. BUT! the train ride alone will amount to about 800:- or more. All prices are in SEK. So now the price to see that concert has beacome 1300:-. So i will arrive in Stockholm C on friday. Then i am going to go to my parents in Upplands Väsby. That adds at least 40:- to the cost. The next day i'm going back to Stockholm which is again at least 40:-. Then i'm gonna have to get home that day. So lets add at least another 40:- to that. Ok so now i have to get to the train that will take me back to Vara. Add another 40:-. 1300:- + 160:- = 1460:-.

makes me wonder how much it would cost to take the car to Stockholm and back.
